consulting and investigation from Tacoma, WA

Small business

Project-based work to find systemic friction, remove it, and capture the resultant increase in revenue. Follow-on with CAPEX needs analysis, and recommendations to management.

Corporate

Available for board service and committee chair roles for fraud, audit, and special projects. Gen-Xer, so less inclined to whine incessantly about stupid crap. Able to find the bathroom without needing the wifi password.

Consulting

There are so many books to recommend that inform corporate governance. The one with the greatest influence has got to be the 1933 uniform commercial code, the 1934 update, and the 2010 draft of the Affordable Care Act. Also reading lawsuit pleadings.

investigations

Definitely must read Colin Woodard's book about the 11 rival nations of North America. Woodard would take out John Reid in any bar fight, because Woodard is smart, and Reid was stupid. Two bits to a hole in a doughnut Reid was a barley-smuggling bully who's first and only use of his ubiquitous technique was overturned as a wrongful conviction, and the false-confessing Darrel Parker was paid 500 grand to settle with the State of Nebraska.

litigation support

If you know what this means and need witnesses interviewed, give a ring and let's talk.

strategy

This is another word for capital planning, which is the thing that makes or breaks growing companies. Small business owners, without exception, spend the money they think they have, rather than the money they actually have. Understanding this in real black and white numbers, controlling the flow of money, and being ready to use power wisely is the difference between creating a cool job for yourself that you will soon hate, and making a company that does things independently. A lesson in learning to let go.
